Come meet Police Assistant Chief Brian Walker, a 21-year veteran of the Airport Police Division, oversees the Office of Support Services at all three LAWA airports. Chief Walker has direct responsibility and oversight of the Division's fiscal operations; Human Resource Liaison Unit; Internal Affairs Unit; Training Unit; Backgrounds and Recruitment Unit; Firing Range; Crime Analysis Unit; Airport Police Intelligence and Information Center; Video Network Enforcement Unit; Communications; and Critical Technology Projects. In this capacity, he also serves as the Chief of Staff for the Chief of Police and Alternate Airport Security Coordinator. Chief Walker has received numerous departmental awards and commendations for incident command and leadership response during several high-profile incidents at LAX. Highlights include: 9/11, Operations Chief/Relief Incident Commander - Responsible for the deployment of all uniformed personnel at LAX, and liaison between federal/local law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders. He has managed the Divisions Operations Center and chaired multi-agency intelligence and operations meetings; Unabomber Incident, Incident Commander; Democratic National Convention, Planning and Intelligence Chief.
