The following crimes were reported in Zone 2, Castaic/Val Verde.

Three vehicles parked inside a secured lot on Castaic Road were broken into. Power tools were taken.  The suspect gained entry into the yard by cutting the lock to the back fence.

Parks Bureau took a report of a stolen Ford Edge that was parked in the overflow lot at lower Castaic Lake.  There was also a petty theft reported from the lower lake by a fisherman who had his Samsung phone taken from his tackle box.

A home owner on Sharp Road in Castaic had his home broken into.  The neighbor called deputies when he saw a man climbing into the 2nd story window of the residence.  Deputies responded and cleared the house and surrounding area but no suspect was found.  The homeowner reported nothing was missing.

A burglary was reported on Park Vista in Castaic.  Entry to the building was made through a window, once inside the suspects broke two ceiling tiles and ransacked the contents of the room.  The damage was estimated at $25.

A business on Castaic Road reported its back door was pried in an attempt to break in.  The door and lock were broken and pry marks were seen around the door frame.
