Two Middle Tenn. Women Charged with Shoplifting Almost $1,000 Worth of Neckties and Bow Ties in Late March

Jackson police have charged two Middle Tennessee women with felony theft for shoplifting almost $1,000 worth of neckties and bow ties from Belk in late March.

Tiffany Amos, 35, of Nashville, and Ivory Pinkerton, 33, of Christiana, are both being held on bonds at the Madison County Jail.

Amos' bond is $10,000 for felony theft and $30,000 for criminal impersonation, while Pinkerton's bond is $5,000 for felony theft and $2,000 for an unrelated criminal trespass charge.

Both women's next schedule court date is 1:30 p.m. on April 24 in Jackson City Court.

On March 22 around 5 p.m., police were called to Belk at 2021 N. Highland Ave. Loss prevention personnel had observed Pinkerton take 10 neckties and 13 bow ties and hand them off to Amos, who then left the store without paying. Pinkerton got away, but Amos was detained by loss prevention until officers arrived. The total value of the 23 ties was $976.00.

Amos gave police a false name. Once her real identity was realized by officers, she was charged with criminal impersonation and transported to the county jail.

Pinkerton was arrested around midnight on April 4 for trespassing at the BP at 223 Airways Blvd. in Jackson. She was harassing customers on the parking lot and had been told several times by management to leave. Once officers arrived, they explained the trespass law to Pinkerton, but she still refused to leave. She was transported to the county jail.

Pinkerton later waived her right to a hearing for the trespass charge on April 14 in City Court.

Investigators subsequently charged Pinkerton with felony theft for her part in the Belk shoplifting.
