Liquor Theft Arrests

On Sunday December 1st, 2013, Signal Hill Police Department Officers were dispatched to Food-For-Less for suspects that had stolen several cases of high end alcohol and fled the scene. SHPD patrol officers located the get-a-away vehicle and detained the occupants of the vehicle. The occupants were positively identified by Food-For-Less loss prevention and subsequently arrested for commercial burglary.

Upon further investigation by SHPD Detectives and Food-For-Less loss prevention employees, it was determined that the same suspects had committed liquor thefts at many other grocery stores in Los Angeles County and Orange County.

A Task Force headed by The Seal Beach Police Department was created to investigate this series of liquor theft crimes. In total there were nearly 100 commercial burglaries attributed to this liquor theft crew.

Today, a total of ten search warrants were executed by six separate SWAT teams from varying agencies. One of the search warrant locations was in Signal Hill which resulted in some of the members of this liquor theft crew being taken into custody.
