Robbery Suspects Arrested

On April 10, 2014 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 100 block of Pacheco Boulevard after receiving a report of an armed robbery. Two suspects described as Hispanic males entered the business, armed with a firearm. The suspects held the store clerk at gunpoint and demanded money from the cash register.

The suspects were described as Hispanic males wearing hooded sweatshirts and material covering their faces. The male suspects fled the area on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the business.

Initial responding officers set up a perimeter and began searching the area for the suspects, while detectives processed the scene.

Officers learned the suspects may have fled on bicycles after talking to witnesses in the area. As officers continued their search, a 16-year-old male juvenile, matching the suspect description was contacted in the 100 block of West I Street. The juvenile admitted to his involvement in the robbery and was found to be in possession of money taken in the robbery.

On April 12, 2014 at approximately 7:20 p.m., the second outstanding suspect was contacted and arrested in connection with the robbery. The 15-year-old male suspect was wearing clothing worn during the April 10th robbery.

Both juvenile suspects were booked into the Iris Garrett Juvenile Justice Correctional Complex, charged with robbery, conspiracy, and criminal street gang enhancements.

“I’m pleased with the work of our initial responding officers and Detective Sean Bayard. The hard-work and determination of these officers brought this case to a successful conclusion.”
-Jason Hedden, Police Commander
