Chemical Endangerment Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Southside woman has been arrested and charged with chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Amanda Leigh Johnson, 27, of Southside, was arrested and is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed,” states Investigator Bobby Bryant. The charge is a felony.
She was arrested after failing a drug test required by Etowah County Court Referral Office.
Johnson, who is three and a half months pregnant, tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Johnson is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bond.
