ORIGINAL DETAILS: On 7-17-2013, at about 5:20 PM, officers were sent to Chihuahua Motors at 1210 S. Grand on a reported robbery. The victim is an employee at the business. He reported that he had been on the lot talking to a Hispanic male and Asian male that were asking him about a pickup for sale. He went inside the office. The two men, now accompanied by a HF that the employee knew, entered the office. The victim reported that this female had threatened to have someone assault him in the past, so he told them to leave. The two males started striking him with their fists. He was able to get out of the office and was trying to call the police on his cell phone when the three left. The female was carrying a television set that had been in the office. The three suspects drove away in a green Toyota pickup. The victim followed the suspects to the area of 15th and S. Hill. There, the Asian male driver stopped and got out of the vehicle. He produced a handgun and fired three shots. The shots did not strike the victim or his vehicle. He returned to the car lot on Grand. Officers later checked the intersection and recovered three cartridge casings. At about 5:30 PM, an officer saw the involved pickup as it pulled into a convenience store at Amarillo Blvd. and Columbine. When the officer tried to stop the vehicle, it sped off the lot and turned northbound on Columbine. The officer stopped pursuing the vehicle north of Amarillo Blvd. due to safety concerns. Minutes later, the vehicle was found abandoned near 18th and Bluebell. There was a television set, a gun case, and some handgun ammunition in the vehicle. Area residents reported seeing someone jumping over fences in back yards. Several officers pulled into the area in an attempt to locate the suspects that had fled. The DPS helicopter and an APD canine unit participated in the search. No suspects were found and there have been no arrests. The victim in this incident did not require medical attention.
