Georgia Man Injured in White County Crash
White County – This morning, at approximately 7:13 a.m., officers from the Indiana State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on I-65 at the 196 mile marker, in which a Louisville, GA man was injured.
The preliminary crash investigation by Trooper Darrick Scott revealed that Jonathan Quarterman, 32, Louisville, GA, was driving a 2009 International semi-tractor, pulling a flatbed trailer, northbound on I-65 near the 196 mile marker. The semi-tractor traveled into the median, hit the median cable barrier, rolled, and came to rest on the drivers’ side.
Quarterman was transported by ambulance to a Lafayette hospital. He suffered a back and neck injury in the crash. He was wearing a seat belt which prevented him from being more severely injured.
This is an ongoing investigation, but at this time neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to this crash.
Quarterman was driving for Senn Freight Lines Inc, based in Newberry SC. Quarterman was issued a citation for speed too fast to avoid a collision.
