NCPD Officers assisted the CHP in trying to locate a suspect who fled from CHP Officers today.

At about 1:50 pm, National City Police Officers assisted the California Highway Patrol in the search for a male suspect who tried to evade CHP officers and fled from a vehicle that ended up being a reported stolen vehicle. The incident occurred in the area Sweetwater Rd and Orange Avenue in the southeastern portion of National City.

National City Officers assisted with establishing a perimeter and searching various streets and yards in the area for the suspect. The suspect was not located and officers cleared.

Later, at about 3:30 pm, a resident in a nearby mobile home park called the police to report a male hiding in their yard. Officers conducted a thorough search of the area, but were unable to locate the male suspect.

The suspect was a Hispanic male adult, about 5'7" tall, earing a blue shirt and jeans. The suspect was described as being bald and having tattoos on his chest.
