Cass County Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr. reports that his department is investigating a Burglary in which a suspect was arrested. At Approximately 7:30 on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 32833 Frost St. in Pokagon Twp west of Dowagiac, Cass County Central Dispatch received a call regarding a Burglary in progress. The property owner had to come to the residence to find that a barn on the property had been broken into and a subject was inside moving property near the door. The property owner confronted the suspect when the suspect fled on foot. Deputies were dispatched and assisted by the Silver Creek Police and Pokagon Band Tribal Police. A search of the area included the use of 4 wheel drive vehicles and a dog, the suspect was located by Cass County Deputies in a field near the incident. The suspect was positively identified and arrested for a charge of breaking and entering as well as resisting and obstructing police. Arrested was Donald Karn, 56 yrs, of Eau Claire MI, his bond was set at $10,000.
