Residential Curb Address Painting in Gardena Begins April 16. Learn More…

The City of Gardena has authorized a non-profit organization, Care for the Children, to repaint address numbers on all residential curbs within the City beginning Wednesday, April 16, 2014. The curb painting will take approximately four to six weeks to complete given that Care for the Children is the only organization permitted by the City to perform this function.

During the period of April 14 - 28, you will receive a notice informing you of when the curb painting is scheduled to take place within your neighborhood. Two people have been approved to leave a notice at the door of each home with a street address to be painted and the notice should indicate the local contact information for the licensee should you have any questions or concerns.

Since the City does not pay Care for the Children, they will be accepting voluntary donations from residents once the work is complete. Under the approved solicitation policy, collectors may request a donation that is no more than $15.00 per address painted. Cash and checks will be accepted, with 20% of the net proceeds going to the Gardena Police Foundation.

Curb painting and solicitation activities are prohibited on Sundays and after 7:30 p.m. daily. For more information regarding the project schedule or to inquire about Care for the Children services being provided in your neighborhood, please contact the City of Gardena Community Development Department at (310) 217-9530.
