Petaluma Police Officer Corie Joerger was on routine patrol and observed a subject she recognized was on probation in the front yard at 1645 Weaverly Drive. The officer contacted Omar Penaloza, age 32, from Petaluma, who was on probation for being under the influence of drugs. Penaloza was found to have suspected methamphetamine in his pants pocket. He was arrested and booked at Sonoma County Jail without bail for possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation.
