Charges filed, suspect arrested in 4-7-14 shooting on Florida.

***UPDATE 4-11-14, 7:35 AM-ARREST IN CASE***On 4-9-14, this case was referred to the 47th District Attorney’s Office.  Charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a family member were accepted on Marcellus Ywain Adams BM 46 under cause #68779-Z.  A warrant was issued.  On 4-10-14, Adams surrendered himself and was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on the warrant. 

**UPDATE/CORRECTED INFORMATION 4-8-13 2:45 PM***Initial release corrected from Alabama to FLORIDA as street involved.  APD investigators have confirmed that this was a domestic dispute.  The victim’s injuries are not life threatening.  The victim was in the Yukon parked just east of 5th and Florida, facing westbound.  The victim was in the driver’s seat, and was shot by the suspect standing outside the vehicle.  The victim got out of the vehicle and ran to 503 S. Florida.  The vehicle rolled across Florida to strike the fence at 500 S. Florida. 

DETAILS:  On 4-7-14, at 7:42 PM, officers were sent to 503 S. Florida on a report that someone had been shot. Officers found a BF age 33 in the back driveway of the home. She had what appeared to be gunshot wounds in her arm and abdomen. Officers believe that she was in a domestic dispute with a BM when he shot her. Initial investigation indicates that the man and woman had been in a gray GMC Yukon that was parked on 5th Avenue near Florida at the time of the shooting. She was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle when she was shot. The suspect then fled in a dark colored SUV. Her car traveled along 5th to Florida before going over the curb and stopping when it hit a fence. She got out of the vehicle and was found across the street. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance. At this point, her injuries are not believed to be life threatening. There have been no arrests in this incident.
