Jackson Police Department will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and traffic enforcement this Saturday and Sunday.

Press Release

Date: 07 April 2014
From: Lt. Ron Adams, Traffic Safety Coordinator
RE: Alcohol Countermeasures Team

As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens of Jackson, the Jackson Police Department’s Alcohol Countermeasures Team will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased DUI
enforcement throughout the city every weekend this month.

There will be a Sobriety Checkpoint on Saturday 12 April 2014, from 2330 until 0115 on North Parkway at Dr. F.E. Wright Drive, and one Sunday, 13 April 2014 from 0145 until 0330 on U.S. 45 By-Pass near Ashport Road.

During these Sobriety Checkpoints and increased DUI enforcement, officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers from the roadways before they can cause any unnecessary injuries or deaths. However, as non-compliance with the safety belt and child restraint laws place people in danger these laws will be vigorously enforced as well.

This project funded solely by the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office.
