Volunteers will be in the Riviera area today to bring awareness to the community regarding residential burglaries

The Torrance Police Department’s Community Affairs Division is teaming up with our Department Volunteers, Torrance CERT, Torrance TARA, and Torrance ADT to bring awareness and educate to the community on recent crime trends .

Today, April 5, 2014, from 10a.m. to 12p.m., approximately 70 volunteers will be going door to door in the Riviera area of the city of Torrance.  We expect the volunteers to reach approximately 1200 residences and cover most of the Riviera.

The purpose of this operation, “Operation Lookout”,  is to hand out flyers regarding our “See, Something, Say Something” campaign, Neighborhood Watch, and information regarding the recent burglaries that have occured in that area.  The goal of the Community Affairs Division’s is to contact each residence in the City of Torrance.
