Deputies arrest Jeffrey Mitchell,43, on felony warrants & charges and Patrick Everage, 5, on misdemeanor charges

Yesterday, at approximately 11:32 A.M. Garland County Sheriff’s Department Investigators, with the assistance of the Hot Springs Police Department, and the Arkansas State Police arrested Jeffrey Mitchell. Mitchell, who had felony warrants for his arrest, was being sought by Investigators for a shooting incident that occurred on Hamilton Dairy Road on March 28, 2014. Investigators received credible information that Mitchell was in the area of Cooper Street. Investigators observed a small black pickup truck leaving a residence in the 200 block of Cooper Street.

Hot Springs Police and Garland County Sheriff units attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver fled. The vehicle was located at the 300 block of Westover Street. A white male, Patrick Everage was standing at the rear at the vehicle. A Hot Springs Police K-9 unit arrived on scene and began tracking a second subject that was seen in the pickup. Mitchell was located hiding under a back porch of a residence and was observed wearing a bullet proof vest under his shirt. A pat down was conducted on Mitchell and loaded 30 round SKS magazine was located in his right rear pocket. There was $860.00 in cash located in Mitchell’s left front pocket and a white envelope containing several white pills that were later identified as Hydrocodone and ibuprofen. A Hot Springs Police K-9 was deployed to do an article recovery search of the area where Mitchell was located. A Springfield .45 caliber pistol was located in the immediate area of Mitchell. Mitchell and Everage were placed into custody. Everage was charged with misdemeanor Possession of a controlled substance, carrying certain prohibited weapons, and was released on bond.

Mitchell is being held without bond on 3 felony counts of a Terrorist Act, Battery 1st degree, 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm by certain persons, Possession of Methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, Simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm, Theft By receiving
