Canyon Country West, Zone 7, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Info. Snapshot for the week of 03/24/14 to 03/30/14.

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

(1) Residential Burglary, (1) Commercial Burglary, (1) Petty Theft, (1) Vehicle Burglary, (4) Shopliftings, (1) Grand Theft Auto

Before I breakdown all the Part 1 crimes that occurred in Zone 7, I would like to formally invite all Zone 7 residents to come and meet our new station unit commander, Captain Roosevelt Johnson.  Captain Johnson and I are inviting (Canyon Country – Zone 7) community members to come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee.  So please, if time permits, come by and have a cup of coffee on us.  Hope to see everyone there.  This event will take place on Weds, April 9, 2014 between 10am and 12pm.  The location is "Starbucks" located at 26585 Golden Valley Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91350 (located near Walmart).

A residential burglary occurred near the 26900 block of Flo Lane.  The victim returned home after a month long business trip and found his televisions missing.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives. 

A commercial burglary occurred near 18500 block of Via Princessa.  The suspect entered the location and stole the attendant’s cell phone that was on a nearby shelf.  The suspect then paid for some miscellaneous store items and walked out of the store.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives. 

A petty theft occurred at Mountasia.  The victim placed his cell phone on a grassy patch while playing miniature golf.  Approximately 15 later he returned to pick up his phone and it was missing.   This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives. 

A burglary to a vehicle occurred near the intersection of Rainbow Glen Drive and Gilbert Street.  The victim had his hand held work radio stolen from within his vehicle.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives. 

A shoplifting occurred at Costco.  The suspect entered the store and concealed some vitamins from a display case.  The suspect then attempted to walkout of the location without paying for the concealed items.  Loss Prevention detained the suspect pending Deputies arrival.  The suspect was arrested and booked at Santa Clarita Station.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives. 

A grand theft auto occurred near the 19600 block of Drycliff Street.  The victim’s had her vehicle stolen from the front of her residence.  It is unknown the means of how the vehicle was obtained.   This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives.
