Full Notification

At 6.06pm the Tryon Fire Department responded to a report of a brush fire on Plum Tree Lane. Units arriving at the scene found the fire moving up the hill towards Jackson Street Extension. Tryon FD continues to contain the fire in both areas with the assistance of the North Carolina Forestry Service, Columbus Fire Department, Saluda Fire Department and Landrum Fire Department. Citizens will notice a large amount of smoke coming from the area, while units remain on scene.
