Nebo man, T.J. Bowman, charged with attempted first-degree murder in shooting on Old Highway 10 East earlier this month

Detective Billie Brown of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Tommy Vaughn “T.J” Bowman Jr., 36, of Earl Lee Drive in Nebo, with two felony counts each of attempted first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.
At 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, it was reported that someone fired shots on Old Highway 10 East. A resident told deputies she was outside her house, saw two vehicles pass and a man shooting out the passenger side of one car.
The incident was caught on video by surveillance cameras at one residence.
Brown said she was able to identify the vehicles, and further investigation led to Bowman’s arrest as the alleged gunman.
She added that the victims were Lakken Bowman, T.J.’s niece, and her boyfriend, Rodney Stevens, both of Old Fort. The motive behind the incident is still under investigation.
No one was injured.
T.J. turned himself in to the Sheriff’s Office Thursday afternoon.
T.J. and another suspect, 20-year-old Heaven Montgomery Langdon, of Earl Lee Drive in Nebo, were also charged with two counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense and one count of misdemeanor larceny.
On March 18, Ryan Langdon, of Bear Haven Drive in Old Fort, reported that someone stole his credit card and used it to purchase $24 worth of gas and withdraw $200 from an ATM.
Heaven is the victim’s ex-wife.
