UPDATE: STOLEN BULLDOG PUPPY RETURNED TO OWNERS

The Sheriff's Department is happy to report that a missing five-month old English bulldog puppy has been returned to his owners.

Earlier today (March 27th), an anonymous man brought Schroder back to his puppy parents in San Marcos. The pup has been examined by a veterinarian and appears to be in good shape.

Although Schroder is back home, the investigation into his disappearance continues. Anyone with information should call the San Marcos Sheriff's Station at (760) 510-5200 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.

An up to $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of an English bulldog that was stolen from a dog day care in San Marcos.

Take a good look at these surveillance photos. The man is wanted in connection with a dog theft at Dogtopia in the 900 block of West San Marcos Boulevard on March 19th around 7:30 p.m.

"Schroeder" wandered away from his home earlier that evening. A man found the five month old puppy on the street and took him to a nearby doggie day care, Dogtopia. 45 minutes later, another man walked into Dogtopia claiming to be the owner. The man then walked out of the doggie day care with Schroeder.

The owners paid $4,000 for the English Bulldog.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male with black hair and a mustache. He was wearing gray pants and a black long sleeve shirt.

If you recognize the man in the surveillance photos or have any information on the whereabouts of the puppy, call the Sheriff's Department non-emergency line at (858) 565-5200.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward and Dogtopia is offering an additional $1,000 to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
