Hwy 6 closed due to large mudslide MP 31-32, Closed at Banks and Tillamook, no opening estimate
ODOT: Valley, No. Coast: OR 6 (Wilson River Highway) remains closed in both directions around milepost 32 about eight miles west of Glenwood because of a mud slide. It is estimated that 300 to 400 yards of dirt and debris (about 40 dump truck loads) are on the highway. ODOT crews and equipment are at the site and an ODOT geologist is on its way to the area to make an assessment. All vehicles stopped by the slide have been cleared from the area. OR 6 is closed at Banks and Tillamook with VMS signs warning motorists of the closure. There is no estimate when the highway will be opened. Motorists should avoid the area or use an alternative route such as U.S. 26 or OR 18/OR 22. Expect delays.
