Anchorage police are investigating dozens of vehicle vandalisms overnight and have arrested three suspects believed to have been involved. Police say there could be more suspects and are asking the public for help in providing any information regarding these events.

Case: 14-12333

Just before 1:00 a.m. APD Dispatch received multiple calls referencing what sounded like glass breaking and/or reporting their vehicle windows had been broken at residences in the Meadow Street area off of Brayton Drive. Police responded and discovered dozens of vehicles in which all the windows had been smashed. Police continue to investigate these vehicle vandalisms.

About 90 minutes later, a citizen called to report hearing sounds of glass breaking in the area of 17th Avenue and Karluk Street. The citizen was able to give police a description of a vehicle that appeared to have been involved in smashing vehicle windows in the area. Police discovered 25 vehicles in this area in which the windows were smashed.

Shortly after the citizen report, Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle in mid-town Anchorage and apprehended three suspects. The suspects have been arrested and charged with 25 counts of Criminal Mischief in the third degree, and have been identified as 19-year-old Elijah Dutton, 20-year-old Evan Young and the third suspect is a juvenile.

Police continue to receive more reports of vehicle vandalisms overnight and, so far, have identified five areas in town of vandalized vehicles. Police believe there could be another vehicle and suspects involved in the vehicle vandalisms.
