While investigators continue working to identify a man found Monday afternoon just outside Durant near a creek, OSBI agents have arrested a Durant man on a complaint of first degree murder after they interviewed him at the Durant Police Department. Raymond Jay Stewart (d.o.b. 11/10/1987) will be booked into the Bryan County jail this afternoon. He will be held on a $2 million bond. Stewart claims he did not know the victim. The two met at a Durant bar Friday night. They met at another location in Durant early Saturday morning. That is when the murder occurred, and Stewart dumped the man’s body near the creek.

OSBI latent print examiners have taken fingerprints from the victim to enter into the Automated Fingerprint Identification System. If the victim has been arrested, a match should be made and identification secured.
