Reminder to residents - Annual hydrant flushing nightly 7:30-11:30pm through April 4th. Check water before use. 
The Borough of Essex Fells Water Department will begin its spring hydrant flushing program on March 24, 2014 through April 4, 2014. The procedure will be carried out weekday evenings between the hours of 7:30 PM and 11:30 PM.
Flushing will begin near Stocker Road and will progress through the Borough in a westerly direction.
This program is required for the proper preventive maintenance on the water distribution system so that any accumulated sediment can be removed from the main. The procedure also provides the opportunity to test the Borough fire hydrants.
The flushing program will last approximately two weeks, during which time residents are asked to make sure their water is running clear before doing laundry.
