The Cleona Borough Police Department announced today that they received funding for 3 Aggressive Driving Enforcement Waves.

The Cleona Borough Police Department is one of 109 municipal police agencies in Pennsylvania that was awarded a special grant to address local aggressive-driving concerns. This Special Aggressive Driving Enforcement Wave began on February 13th and will run until Sept. 14, 2014 on segments of roadways where police have identified aggressive driving as a major traffic safety issue.

The Cleona Borough Police Department also announced aggressive-driving enforcement activities as part of a statewide Wave from March 24 to May 4th. The Cleona Borough Police Department will be joining over 330 municipal police agencies and the Pennsylvania State Police to reduce the number of Aggressive Driving related crashes, injuries and deaths on 435 roadways throughout the State. The law enforcement activities will be conducted on roadways located in Cleona Borough.

The focus for this 6 week enforcement Wave will be on Distracted Driving, Speeding and Work Zone Safety. Motorists exhibiting other unsafe driving behaviors such as; driving too fast for conditions, following too closely, careless driving, red light running and any other aggressive driving actions will be stopped and cited.

The 3rd and final Aggressive Driving Enforcement Wave will be conducted from July 7th to August 31st.
