UPDATE: 
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man, which occurred Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 12:32 A.M., in the 11300 block of Medina Court, El Monte. 

Detectives have learned that El Monte Police Department officers responded to a call of a "Gunshot Victim." Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim, an adult male, seated in the driver's side of a vehicle with several gunshots to his upper torso. An apparent unknown suspect approached the victims on foot and shot into the vehicle several times. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, an adult female, had been seated in the passenger side of the vehicle. The female victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
