REMINDER: Stem Cell Drive for Michelle Neu 03-22-14 10am-2pm
The Torrance Police Department, along with the “Be the Match”-National Marrow Donor Program, will have a stem cell drive for recently retired Chief John Neu’s wife, Michele Neu. This stem cell drive is to help with Michelle’s search for a stem cell match, as she continues her battle against Leukemia.
The stem cell drive will be held on Saturday, March 22nd from 10:00am until 2:00pm. This event is open to the public and will be located at the Torrance Police Department. The event will be held in the Police Departments large shed (in the northeast lot) on Civic Center Dr just west of Maple.
Parking will be located in the Torrance Courthouse parking lot on the corner of Maple Ave and Civic Center Dr (far northwest corner).
The process takes approximately 15 minutes with the bulk of that being the paperwork portion. Four oral swabs will be taken from inside the mouth/cheek area. There is NO cost and NO blood is drawn. If someone is a match they will be contacted at a later date. You must be between the ages of 18 to 44 to be tested. If you have been tested before, you are already in the National Registry and do not need to be retested.
Come out and support Michelle in her fight with cancer!
