We are passing along this information to our residents from the Polk County Sheriff's Office concerning a recent break-in close to town:

Investigators are asking for help in locating the person responsible for a break-in that occurred Tuesday the 18th on Dogwood Trail. in Tryon.

The incident took place between 8:40am and 11:43am. The offender was able to gain entry into the home through a side door. During the break-in, a bedroom was ransacked and a large amount of jewelry was taken.

There was an older brown 4-door vehicle seen suspicious in the area during the time of incident. Officers are still investigating and checking on the description of a possible suspect.

"We're checking all leads." states Sheriff Donald Hill. Anyone with information about this crime or any other crime is asked to call Polk County Sheriff’s Office at (828) 894-3001. Polk County S/O Detective Sgt. Randall Hodge is investigating case.
