On Tuesday, March 18, at 11:01 am, officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to Railroad Canyon Road, east of Church Street regarding a hit and run collision. Information received by several reporting parties stated a grey van struck a tree in the center median and possibly a female pedestrian before fleeing the scene. The female was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center with major, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Lake Elsinore Police officers apprehended the driver of the grey van, Natazska Shaundelle Farr, age 43 of Canyon Lake, driving on Summerhill Drive in Lake Elsinore. The subsequent investigation led to Farr’s arrest for driving under the influence and hit and run regarding the collision with the tree. At this time the cause of the injuries to the victim are still being investigated.

Railroad Canyon, at the scene of the collision, has been reduced to one lane in each direction. Motorists should expect a delay when commuting on Railroad Canyon Road. The anticipated partial closure is expected be in effect until 7 pm.
