Parolee flees across highway 
On March 18th, 2014 at 11:30 am parolee Gerardo Betancourt, 37, of Morgan Hill took desperate measures to avoid capture. Morgan Hill Officers were conducting an investigation at the Executive Inn on Condit Road, when an officer spotted wanted felon Gerardo Betancourt. Mr. Betancourt fled the scene in a vehicle leading Police on a short low speed pursuit onto highway 101. As Mr. Betancourt passed the Tennant Avenue exit, he pulled his vehicle to the east shoulder of the road and ran across highway 101. Dodging traffic he ran to the west side of the freeway. Morgan Hill Officers gave chase but Mr. Betancourt was able to escape over a 12 foot sound wall. Gerardo Betancourt is wanted for a parole violation and evading police. He is considered armed and dangerous. Please call the police if you have information pertaining to his whereabouts.
