James Street bridge closure
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department announced today that the James Street bridge in the City's Central Industrial District will close for six months starting on Tuesday, March 18.
Crews will begin rehabilitating the deck and substructure of the James Street bridge, which spans the Union Pacific Railroad line and connects Kansas City, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan. The City is undertaking this construction project with the cooperation of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kan.
During construction, southbound traffic will access West 12th Street via a detour on Central Avenue. Northbound traffic will detour at 13th Street and Mulberry Street to Union Avenue.
Construction on this project is scheduled for completion in early fall 2014.
