The Sheboygan Police Dept. is investigating a series of burglaries that have occurred in the City of Sheboygan.
• On 11-04-13, a burglary was reported to St. Cyril and Methodius Church at 828 New Jersey Ave.
• On 12-02-13, a burglary was reported to Holy Family Church, 818 Huron Ave.
• On 02-23-14, a burglary was reported at St. Peter Clavier Church at 1444 S 11th St.
• On 03-07-14, an attempted burglary was reported at St. Cyril and Methodius Church, 828 New Jersey Ave.
• On 03-11-14, business burglaries were reported when entry was gained to the Professional Building, 1407 N 8th St.
All of these burglaries share similar traits. Entry was forced and once inside, the suspect targeted collections and petty cash.

The Sheboygan Police Dept. is asking the public to take steps in order to minimize the risk of being a crime victim.
1. If you have collections or petty cash in your business, if at all possible, deposit that at the close of business. Do not keep cash in your business overnight.
2. If you keep cash in your building, please ensure that it is counted and locked up in a secure location.
3. If your building is used by the public, ensure that access within the building is limited, and the building is locked when your function is over.
4. As you leave your building at night, ensure that all windows and doors are locked and secure.
5. Use exterior lighting to illuminate the area immediately surrounding your building.
6. Move snow piles, shrubs and other obstructions, allowing a clear line of site from the roadway to your building.
