Illinois Route 47 and Kreutzer Road has been re-opened. The traffic crash vehicles have been removed.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at approximately 10:20 am, the Huntley Police Department responded to a reported two vehicle crash at the intersection of Illinois Route 47 and Kreutzer Road. The crash involved a 2001 Peterbilt semi-trailer truck and a 2008 Ford Expedition. Initial reports indicated the Peterbilt was southbound on Route 47 and the Ford was eastbound on Kreutzer Road.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. The driver of the Ford, a 40 year-old female from Marengo was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The driver of the Peterbilt, a 44 year-old male from Sebastian, Texas, was transported by ambulance to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin.

The intersection was closed to conduct an investigation into the traffic crash. The Huntley Police Department is being assisted by the Illinois State Police and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team. The intersection is now reopened and the investigation is continuing.
