(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man has been arrested and charged in connection to possession of child pornography, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Dennis Jerome Brown, Jr., 49, of Gadsden, was arrested yesterday, March 6, and charged with one count of possession of child pornography,” states Investigator Randal Gilliland.

Evidence of child pornography was found on a computer in Brown’s residence when the device was seized in January. The computer was taken into law enforcement custody after he was arrested on drug warrants for allegedly making narcotic transactions via the computer.

“This is a terrible crime that has been committed against children, who at this time, have not been identified. We do not need these types of individuals on the streets of our county,” Sheriff Entrekin said. “I am proud of our investigators for the work they did in this case. We have some of the toughest sex offender laws in the nation and I anticipate their use against this predator.”

Brown is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $30,000 cash bond.
