Retired Deputy Turns 100
Join the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and the William B. Kolender Sheriff's Museum as we celebrate retired Sheriff's Captain Leland McPhie's 100th birthday:

Captain McPhie will be presented with special recognitions for his many years of service with the Sheriff's Department, including a proclamation declaring March 10th as Leland McPhie Day. There will be free food and refreshments for everyone.
Captain McPhie first joined the Sheriff's Department back in 1940. He wrote the first Policy and Procedures (manual) for deputies who work in the jail. Captain McPhie also took a two-and-a-half year break from the Sheriff's Department to serve in World War II.
A life-long track and field athlete, Captain McPhee remains extremely active. He is now preparing to compete at the USA Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston.
The public is cordially invited to attend this special celebration for Captain Leland McPhie.
