Man arrested after car chase through yards in Soap Lake

SOAP LAKE, Wash. (05MAR2014) – A 31-year-old Soap Lake man is in jail after leading U.S. Marshals and Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies on a car chase this afternoon through several yards in Soap Lake.

Marshals and sheriff’s deputies were searching for Lamar J. Dana for outstanding felony warrants for failure to appear – riot while armed, and failure to appear - possession of controlled substance. They found him in a car at a service station at State Route 28 and Division Road North. Dana fled in the vehicle, driving through the City of Soap Lake and through several residential yards and a fence before continuing out of town northbound on State Route 17.

Dana continued about two miles to Road 23 Northwest, headed westbound and struck a locked Quincy Irrigation District gate, disabling the car.

Dana received minor injuries and was taken to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata for treatment. Nobody else was hurt during the chase.

Dana is lodged in the Grant County Jail on the outstanding warrants. Charges related to the car chase are pending.
