RUN AGAINST ADDICTION 5K RACE

The following is posted on behalf of the The Epicenter Church

RUN AGAINST ADDICTION 5K RACE

This is not an ordinary race, not just another 5k. Every step has a purpose. This is a race for our community, for our county. This is a race to fight addiction. It’s a race to fight against addiction to methamphetamine and other illegal drugs. It’s a race to fight against addiction to nicotine, alcohol, and prescription drugs. It’s a race to get our sons and daughters back, our families back and our community back.

Come join the fight to end addiction on May 24, 2014.

A portion of the proceeds from this race will benefit the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office GREAT Program. The GREAT Program stands for Gang Resistance Education and Training.
For more information on the GREAT Program visit http://www.great-online.org/.

A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the House of Refuge at The Epicenter Church.

Please consider joining us in the Run Against Addiction.

You can register for the race on our website at http://www.runagainstaddiction.com./

If you prefer to give a donation, you can do that through our website as well. Please consider making a difference in your community.

The first annual Run Against Addiction will begin Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 8:00 am at The Epicenter Church, 131 Countryside Drive, Forest City, NC 28043.

You can register the day of the race, but will not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Registration on race day will be from 7:00 am to 7:30 am. You can preregister on our website.
The registration fee is $25. However, if you register by March 15, 2014, you get an early registration discount of $20 and are guaranteed a t-shirt.

The race will be chip timed.

In addition, colored ribbons will be provided to represent each addiction if you are running against a certain addiction or in honor or memory of someone who has struggled with addiction.

It is our heart that this race brings our community together in a fight to end addiction.

Second Chronicles 7:14 states, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” It begins with prayer. This race and this ministry were birthed in prayer.

Please stay tuned in to our Facebook page or view the Upcoming Events tab on our website for more details on community prayer efforts in preparation for this race and the fight against addiction. http://www.runagainstaddiction.com./
