On March 4, 2014 at approximately 10:00 am, a collision occurred between a KCS Train and a Honda Accord at 5th and 78 Highway in Sachse.
Investigation indicated that a 35 year old female resident of Sachse intentionally drove her vehicle either around or under the crossing arms and parked on the railroad tracks in front of an oncoming train.
The train engineer observed the vehicle parked on the tracks, and was able to slow the train significantly before impact.
The woman in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
She was taken to a local hospital for observation.
The car was badly damaged and the train had minor damage.
