On March 1, 2014, around 7:00 AM, Andres Marin began an 18 mile bike ride at the Skyline Trailhead. The trailhead is located in the city of Corona, and leads into the Cleveland Nation Forest. About 5:30 PM, Marin telephoned home and said he was lost, but would try to make it down the hill before it got dark. About 6:00 PM, a search for Marin was initiated and continued through the night. As of 7:30 this morning, Marin had not been located.

Marin is a 34 year old Hispanic male, about 5’6” tall and weighs about 155 pounds. He left home wearing a black jacket and blue pants. He was riding a blue and black Giant mountain bike. He might also have a small yellow and black backpack.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is actively searching for Marin using search and rescue teams, off-road vehicles, mounted posse members and a helicopter. The United States Forest Service is also assisting with the search. The Sheriff’s Department is not currently asking for the public’s help with the search, but is requesting that hikers and bikers be on the lookout for Marin.

If anyone has information on Marin’s location, or sees him, please call the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Command Post at (951) 204-0967.
