The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area from 6:00pm tonight (3/2) until 10:00am tomorrow morning (3/3). Between 4 to 8 inches of snow is expected along with some freezing rain and the possibility of high wind gusts. Dangerously cold temperatures will follow on Monday & Tuesday.

• Tomorrow's morning commute will be impacted. If driving, allow yourself additional travel time and keep extra space between your vehicle and others on the road. Remember to clear snow & ice from your vehicle before driving.

• Check on elderly neighbors and relatives. Especially in the event of a power outage or cold temperatures.

• Once roads become snow covered, all vehicles must be removed from Snow Emergency Streets in South River. These streets are listed at the end of this post.

• As per South River Borough ordinance, all snow & ice must be removed from sidewalks within 24 hours after snowfall. Blowing or shoveling of snow into streets is prohibited. Instead, please remove it onto lawns or other areas.

• Clear a path to your front door and shovel around fire hydrants near your property to assist First Responders in the event of an emergency.

• Updates on any changes to school schedules will be posted as they are received from the Board of Education.
