Officer Sharon Dowdle was named Detention Officer of the Year for her dedicated service to the Rutherford County Detention Facility.
The award was presented by Sheriff Chris Francis Thursday night at the annual Detention Facility meeting held at the Rutherford Enrichment Council in Rutherfordton.
Sheriff Francis addressed the group of Detention Officers and thanked them for their dedicated service to the county as well as the citizens of Rutherford County.
Officer Dowdle was chosen for this award by her peers for her teamwork, dedication, positive attitude and can-do work ethic.
