Mandatory Evacuations And Updated Information for residents residing on Ridge View Drive in Azusa

Updated Information

The Azusa Police Department is advising residents residing on Ridge View Drive in Azusa to evacuate their residences as soon as possible. Evacuations are MANDATORY at this time.

This decision was made by police department personnel after speaking with representatives with the National Weather Service, as well as other local authorities. As with all evacuations, the safety of our resident's lives is the first priority of the Azusa Police Department.

Mountain Cove Residents

Although there are NO evacuations ordered for the Mountain Cove Community of Azusa, residents should take precautionary measures. Highway 39 is open and Caltrans is patrolling the area, however, residents should be aware that should the roadway become littered with falling debris, mud and/or rocks, passage may be unlikely for a period of time.

Should you need medical attention, prescriptions, baby formula or other life dependent items, please make sure to have those available, in case you need to shelter in place.

Evacuation Center

An evacuation center has been established at the Crowther Center at 241 W. Dawson Avenue in Glendora. The phone number to the center is (626) 914-2357.

Law Enforcement Presence

Due to this evacuation order, additional law enforcement personnel will be patrolling Ridge View Drive to prevent criminal activity during the absence of residents.

We Encourage You To Evacuate

Many deaths occur during a landslide when people are sleeping. Due to the timing of this order, coupled with the impending evening anticipated storm, we strongly encourage you to leave your residence.
