Mt. Carmel man arrested for criminal confinement after January incident at Patoka business. 
On February 19, 2014, James Carrol Diel age 42 of Mt. Carmel, Illinois was arrested on a Felony warrant for Criminal Confinement. The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office reports that on January 30, 2014 Gibson County Central Dispatch received a call from a business in Patoka where an unknown white male shoved an employee into a public restroom and held her in the bathroom against her will. When Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene they collected evidence and videos from the scene. Upon reviewing the video surveillance Mr. Diel was identified and an arrest warrant was obtained. Mr. Diel has since posted a $1500 bond.
The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who may have been placed in a similar situation to report these incidents their office.
