Search Warrant Yields Marijuana and an Assault Weapon
On Tuesday, February 25, 2014, Turlock Narcotics Enforcement Team (TNET) served a search warrant in the 300 block of East Linwood Avenue in Turlock as part of an ongoing investigation. Investigators found evidence of electricity theft and a large scale marijuana growing operation inside the home. Investigators seized over 900 plants and an illegal assault weapon. The plans were capable of producing over 250 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $200,000.
No arrests were made during the service of the search warrant. Robert Chavez, 27 years, of Turlock, has been identified as a person of interest in this case. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is encouraged to call the Turlock Police Drug Hotline at 209-668-5550 Extension 6117.
