Wanted sex offender (Nelson Last) apprehended over the weekend 
A tip Saturday evening led authorities to a wanted sex offender.
McDowell County sheriff’s deputies were looking for 33-year-old Nelson William Last Jr., whose last known address was 46 Mae Drive in Nebo.
Capt. Shanon Smith charged Last with felony failure to change address, which is a sex offender registry violation.
Last was also wanted on the following Marion Police Department warrants filed by Detective Sgt. Rick Gutierrez: two counts each of possession of a counterfeit instrument, currency or check; obtaining property by false pretense; forgery of instrument; and conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense.
Marion police officers received information Saturday evening that Last was living on Epley Drive. Authorities responded and arrested him at the residence.
