Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting death that occurred at approximately 5:16 PM, Sunday, February 23, 2014, in the 1000 block of West School Street, Compton.
Detectives have learned that deputies from Compton Station responded to the location regarding a "gun shot victim" call. When the deputies arrived at the scene they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the upper torso.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The unknown suspect(s) are outstanding.
