Suspect arrested in Brandon Mende homicide case
GRANT COUNTY, Wash. (20FEB2014) - Grant County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Detectives investigating the Feb. 16 shooting homicide of Brandon Michael Mende have arrested Michael David Meier, 17, of Moses Lake. He was arrested without incident this morning at 425 North Grape Drive in Moses Lake. Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies, Moses Lake Police and Deputy United States Marshals made the capture.
Mende was shot and killed in the yard of a home in the 6000 block of Turnkey Road in Moses Lake early this past Sunday morning.
“I want to thank everyone who stepped forward with tips, and also all the witnesses who stepped up to give us the information we needed to make the arrest,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “The teamwork of sheriff’s deputies, Moses Lake police and the Marshals was a great force in this case. This is a great example of what can happen when we have citizen and law enforcement cooperation.”
