Steuben issues travel advisory

The Steuben County Commissioners in cooperation with the Sheriff, Steuben County Highway and the Steuben County Emergency Management have enacted a Snow ADVISORY Level for Steuben County. The Advisory will remain in affect indefinitely. Deputies are reporting that roadways are becoming flooded with ice build up underneath creating a very slippery travel condition. Slush mix is also creating problems on many of the roads. Steuben County Emergency Management is reporting that Steuben County is under a flood warning.
Conditions could deteriorate as temperatures fall. Please use caution and be alert for standing water and slippery conditions. Slow down and allow ample travel time. Please use your headlights during the day to aid in visibility.

Regular media outlets plus the Sheriff Facebook page,www.steubensheriff.com and Nixle text alerts will be used to alert everyone of any changes, extensions or updates.
