Borough Resident Arrested Following Stabbing 
On February 17th, 2014 at 4:05am, patrol units responded to an apartment building on Main Street for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located a 39 year old male in an upstairs apartment that had been stabbed in the lower back. The male was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he is listed as being in critical but stable condition.
The suspect, identified as 31 year old Edin A. Martinez-Vasquez of South River, was later located and arrested. Mr. Martinez-Vasquez is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is currently at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick with bail set at $100,000.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges filed against Edin A. Martinez-Vasquez are merely accusations and he is innocent until proven guilty.
