The Village of Mount Kisco Department of Public Works is working to ensure snow covered fire hyrants are made accessible to the Mount Kisco Fire Department. However, we are asking property owners with fire hydrants on their property to assist us by clearing a 3 (three) foot area around the hydrant. Snow accumulation, drifting snow, or the results of snow removal can completely bury fire hydrants. Blocked hydrants can result in slower response times to a critical emergency if firefighters have to locate and clear a buried hydrant. Hydrants that are visible and accessible to firefighters are an important part of fire safety in every neighborhood. Your assistance with this effort is greatly appreciated.
